Dr. Frank's Build a Boyfriend Walkthrough - Complete Game Guide (2024)

Hello everyone! This game is a visual novel of something like Dr. Frankenstein book, but this game has the Dr. as a women in need of a boyfriend to love her in which she decides to build herself.

This game is pretty straight forward in getting the 100% completion, so I have written this guide to help others get the completion as fast as possible.

We will make a save at a certain point to get another achievement that is tied to the secret ending and so I will have it in the walkthrough as Playthrough 1.5.

Now let's dive into some quick setting changes to make this game faster going through the text.

To make things go as fast as possible change your settings in the Preferences menu to look like the screenshot below:

These are the written settings shown above:

Skip = All Messages

Make sure that “all messages” is currently selected since this will be the first time playing having seen messages won't do anything really.

Transitions = Show None

You want to make sure you change Transitions to Show None as it is just slightly faster than having all on.

After Choice = Keep Skipping

You also want to make sure After Choice is on keep skipping so you can just blaze right through the game.

After all the settings have been selected, you can navigate to the top right of the menu and click on return so we can start this bad boy up! Let's get some achievements!

Playthrough 1

Click Start and once the screen allows you to press do so to skip the text.

Once you get to the Build-Your-Boyfriend (Monster) selection there are three options you want to change to get two achievements coming up. The other options should not matter so choose whichever you like. Here they are:

On the Hair options make sure you choose any hair you like besides being bald.

Once you select your hair then choose the Hair Color Tragic Anime Boy.

The bottom selection (cough) choose Just Like My Animes.

Once you have all those selected then click on confirm.

You should unlocked these two achievement:

After clicking confirm the scenes will fly by. Leaving you looking at the house of Dr Franks shown below:

Let's go ahead and knock out some more quick achievements before we continue on with the story.

Navigate to the top part of the house, this is the Lab.

Once you get to the lab then talk to Iggs. Click I have a question... then I need help finding... and select whichever option you want. This will net you:

Once done, click the arrow on the floor to go back to the house layout.

Now navigate to the Bedroom on the second story to the far right.

When you get to the bedroom make sure you click on the pink pig (Dr. Oink) on the bed, about 3 times or so, to get it to move to your inventory unlocking:

After, click on the booklets under the pillow to move them to you inventory.

Before leaving make sure you grab the shirt from the pile of clothes then click the arrow on the floor to go back to the house overview.

We will go ahead and knock out two more other achievements before we continue with the story. Click on the Study.

When you get to the study click on the big dictionary on the bookshelf to the right. Click Yes and the book will be in your inventory.

Now click the back arrow on the top left of the screen. Navigate to the Lab and when you get there you will die from carrying the very oversized book! Click Yes to go back to the Study.

We will come back to this room later for the other playthrough ending but for now go back to the house overview by clicking the arrow.

Navigate to the Conservatory.

When you get to the screen there is a bag of Weed Killer Grower in the top left corner. Click on the bag and then click the Yes option to have the bag in your inventory.

Click the back arrow in the middle right of the screen. Then navigate to the Lab again. You will die from being allergic to the Grower and being indoors with it! Click Yes to go back to the Conservatory.

We will also come back to this room a little later so for now go back to the house overview by clicking the arrow.

Navigate to the Kitchen.

Grab the knife at the bottom right to add it to you inventory. Then click the arrow to go back to the house overview.

Navigate to the Dining Room.

Grab the piece of cloth laying on the table.

Go to your inventory on the top left. Click on the piece of cloth and click the down arrow in the menu to be able to click on the shirt then clicking the combine option to make a new item in your inventory shown below:

Click the X in the top left corner to exit the inventory menu and then the arrow to go back to the house overview.

Navigate to the Entryway.

Go to your inventory and select the knife and the use option. You want to click on the locked cabinet. In which you will get some shoes added to your inventory. Click the arrow to go back to the overview.

Now we want to go to the church which is on the way to Hindenberg to find some pants. Click the sign shown below:

You now want to click the arrow pointing toward the church to go in.

Once you are in the church there is a clothing donation box to the top left so click on it to get some pants.

Click the arrow on the ground to navigate back in which you will be introduced to another character called Sylios.

We should now have all the pieces of clothing to put on our Monster, I mean Boyfriend. Click on the Do not Enter sign to go back to the house. The go to the Lab.

When you get to the lab you will need to talk to Iggs 3 times to give each item of clothing to him.

We are now in the second part of the game in which we are trying to get our Monster Boyfriend a new arm. We will make a save here as this will save us time for another ending achievement later. Press then click on Save on the top menu and select the first slot to make a quick save. Click on return to go back to the game.

Click on the sign to go to the church. The click on the arrow to go to the graveyard.

Click on the gravestones then talk to Sylios on the right with the shovel. Click on the option Can I have your shovel? to unlock:

Once done, click the arrow on the top left to go back to the church overview. Then click the Do not enter sign to go back to the house overview. Now go to the Conservatory.

When you get to the screen go to your inventory and click on MeatyMan Monthly... then use it on the plant at the bottom left of the screen.

Once the plant is distracted then click on the shovel twice behind the plant and click the option Yes to add it to your inventory.

We will also grab the weed grower again to use actually this time around so make sure you click the option Yes to add it to your inventory. Click the arrow to go back to the house overview.

Click on the sign to go to the church overview. Then the arrow pointing towards the church door. Once inside go to your inventory and use it on the flower bed next to the altar.

Click the arrow to go back a screen. Next click the arrow to go to the graveyard. Click on the graveyard sites then talk to Sylios to have him go into the church.

You are now able to dig up your boyfriends new arm by clicking on the gravesites again.

You will go through a lot of screens and be brought back to the main screen also unlocking:

Playthrough 1.5

We will now go through and get the secret ending to the game. Click Load and load up your Save 1.

Navigate to the Study. Then click on the big dictionary on the shelf to the right and clicking the yes option to add it to your inventory. Make your way back to the church interior where you retrieve the pants. NOTE** Make sure you click and examine the flowerbed in order to get the correct dialogue for Sylios ending to be possible. Go to your inventory and select the big dictionary and click on the bookshelf to your right. NOTE** Just to be safe make sure you examine the bookshelf again after placing the big dictionary.

Now continue the story from the steps before above by getting the shovel and weed grower, but DO NOT put it on the plants this time. There will be a new option when talking to Sylios so if you see This used to be a Cauldian church then you did the steps correctly. Continue through the dialog selecting each top option which after all that then you will have an option asking Sylios about the books of necromancy in the church meaning you can get the other ending now.

Proceed through the rest of the story by having Sylios leave to tend to the plants in the church that you put weed grower on. Make sure you click on the gravesites if nothing is moving the story along. Once you do you will go through a lot of newer scenes involving Sylios this time. When you get to a choice in against your ex-boyfriend and Sylios please choose whichever one satisfies you. I choose the first one because you know he stole your research, hehe.

After all the scenes you will be back at the main menu with the secret ending done also unlocking:

Clean Up

You should have two more achievements left so let's go ahead and clean those up.

Click on the Extras in the top right. Then clicking the middle option Don't Use!!! to unlock:

Click the Return button to go back to the main menu then click on the Epilogue in the bottom left of the screen.

Press to start skipping. On the Build-Your-Boyfriend you can just click Confirm to continue on with the story. Select whichever options you want in this epilogue as it really does not matter much what you choose. Then whenever you get the option to name your Monster Son just name it whatever you would like.
